As we kick off 2016, we’re looking ahead to the trends in jewelry for the year. Jewelry and fashion go hand in hand, so we took a look at the spring runways from New York, London, Paris and Milan. We saw dazzling jewelry ranging from long chains at Alexander Wang to statement earrings at Prada and Dolce & Gabbana. Read on as we take a look at the trends we expect to see this year in jewelry.
Pantone Colors of the Year – Rose Quartz and Serenity
Rose Quartz and Serenity have been named the Colors of the Year for 2016 by Pantone, the world-renowned authority on color for a variety of industries. The PANTONE® name is known worldwide as the standard for color communication from designer to manufacturer and retailer to customer. This is the first time Pantone has named two shades as the Color of the Year. We love these earrings by Spark that embody both colors featuring two pear-shaped Blue Moonstones and Pink Sapphires with Diamonds.
All Choked Up
Chokers are a very big look for spring. We saw this look on the runways at Chanel, Balmain and Christian Dior. Get in on this trend with this Princess Diamond Collar Necklace in 18K Yellow Gold and Diamonds by Roberto Coin.
Long chains were all the rage at the Alexander Wang runway show. Get in with the chain gang with this Ippolita Glamazon® 18K Gold Multi-Oval Shape Necklace.
Statement earrings are the biggest trend for this year. At the runway shows, models were seen in head-turning earrings that looked like disco balls. Tassels were the look at Oscar de la Renta and shoulder-grazing earrings were seen at Gucci. Embrace this trend with these John Hardy Dot Chandelier Earrings in Turquoise and Sterling Silver.
We’re seeing buckles on cuffs and bracelets this year creating a bold yet feminine look. Adorn your wrist with this Roberto Coin Primavera Collection 18K Rose and White Gold Diamond Buckle Bracelet.
Jackets For Your Ears
The trend for ear climbers and jackets started last year on the red carpet and we’re continuing to see this trend for 2016. Dress up your ears with these Diamond Starburst Ear Jackets by Penny Preville.
Binge on Fringe
Fringe is the hottest look in fashion right now. We’re seeing fringe adorn handbags, shoes and clothing. Why should jewelry be any different? We’re loving this Legends Macan Pendant in 18K Gold with Orange Sapphires and Diamonds by John Hardy.
Gold continues to be a hot look in jewelry for 2016. Go for the gold with Marco Bicego’s Lunaria Necklace in 18K Yellow Gold.
High Tech Finishes
We’re seeing many designers using high-tech finishes to convert traditional precious metals into a color or blackened finish. We are loving this M.C.L. Design Large Bubble Hinged Cuff Bracelet in Blackened Sterling Silver with Metallic Green Enamel, Featuring Round Berry Mix and Black Sapphires.
