Have you ever wondered about the origin of cocktail rings? How did they get their name? To find out, we’re taking you back in time to the 1920’s when flappers, jazz and speakeasies were all the rage.
During the Prohibition Era, there was a ban of alcohol and an insurgence in fashion. Many people in high society would flock to the speakeasies where the alcohol flowed, fashion flourished and women flashed their most opulent jewels. Women began wearing large rings as fashion statements adding extra glam to their ensembles. The “cocktail ring” became the latest must-have accessory and the ultimate status symbol to wear during this time.
