Keeping in touch with our team, clients and designers is important to us, especially during this time when we’re all sheltering in place. We recently checked in with jewelry designer Lauren Kessler of Lauren K Fine Jewelry. The Lauren K Collection is comprised entirely of handpicked gemstones, crafted in 18K gold, and finished with delicate micro pavé. The designs notably utilize unexpected combinations of gems and color palates, creating jewelry that is both unpredictable and dramatic. The exquisite vibrancy of the gemstones is just what we need to give us a lift during these trying times. Read on to find out what Lauren has been up to while staying at home.
What’s your go-to at home outfit?
Comfy sweats, of course!
What are you cooking?
Turkey meatballs, scallops and lots of cauliflower rice.
What has inspired your designs during this time at home?
It’s been difficult because I don’t have access to the stones, which are locked up in the city- so there will be a race to play catch up when we are reunited!
What’s your favorite song right now on your playlist?
Ave Maria by Aaron Neville- it’s such a beautiful rendition that I’ve recently discovered, and it’s very soothing.
What piece of jewelry brings you comfort?
My opal beaded necklace and boulder opal Bea necklace- they’re so simple, yet colorful and easy to wear.
What are you binge watching on Netflix?
Fauda, The Office, Six feet Under. I finished Ozark and Parenthood, which were both incredible! Parenthood was one I missed when it was on TV, and it was so perfect for quarantine- so joyful and the characters and story were so well defined. And, of course, I finished Tiger King!
Favorite snack?
Cereal

Wine

What’s bringing you joy?
My dogs- it’s so nice to have them around (or for me to be around more!) My kids are both home from college, unexpectedly, so it’s nice to all be together again (they may say otherwise!). Weather permitting, I walk one of my dogs about 5 miles a day, so that’s been really nice also.
Favorite workout?
Walking the dog and the Peloton.
Where’s your favorite place to hang out in your home?
My bed or the game table playing a game with my family.
What are you looking forward to most?
Life resuming and simple things we all took for granted- seeing friends, giving hugs, celebrations, going back to work, theater, movies, concerts, and people not being afraid.
