Since 1900, the house of Masriera, which was founded in 1839, was to become the unique representative of Art Noveau jewelry in Spain. Masriera brought a new style to the world of Art Noveau, characterized by it's Mediterranean influences and it's masterly treatment of the enamel in all it's techniques, which would henceforth become known as Barcelona Enamel.
